I don't recall all of the exact details, but wasn't he just going to leave Cabarrus Co. and rebuild on the other side of Charlotte, somewhere on the southwest side as I recall.

Billionaire speedway owner Bruton Smith apparently wasn't kidding when he said he would move Lowe's Motor Speedway from Concord, N.C., to a new site near Charlotte.

Smith declined to encourage speculation that he was considering a move to Rock Hill, saying he has not disclosed where he is looking to move. He did say he was considering about 20 sites within an 18-mile radius of Charlotte/Douglas International Airport.

The company I work for has had the pleasure (or displeasure) of working with most of the big wigs in Cabarrus County (and some beyond). The general consensus around the office is that Bruton Smith is the 2nd biggest asshole in our area, second only to Teresa Earnhardt.
