5 year plan remember?

Seriously though it won't happen but if it does you take him. Injury or not you take him at 14 and hope he gets healthy.

Lol I got you. Just messing but again "5yr plan" means he ain't getting pass the two gms drafting after us.

With Len and Zeller being really good in their own right he could be the third big taken instead of the first. Grand scheme not a huge drop but still a drop.

Baron Davis tore his ACL in 1999 and the Hornets drafted him 3rd overall anyway, he turned out just fine. Just cautioning you on running away from a dude bc of one injury.

I was never on his bandwagon to begin with so I have nothing to run away from. His injury just further cements the fact that I don't want him.

he'll probably drop a little bit, but some team will be glad to take a chance on him at 6 or 7.

I want to see Nerlens and that Box Cut in a bobcats jersey blocking shots all day.

Are people on McLemore's bandwagon because of YouTube dunk highlights and the fact he's a guard?

Also his tremendous athleticism, silky smooth shot, ability to hit those long range bombs with consistency, defensive potential, etc.

also, he's already ready for the NBA, prototypical size with great wingspan, and no character issues.
and he's the perfect complement to Kemba, who will finally have a shooter to pass to when he drives.

Makes sense. I'm just cautious about the "ready for the NBA" thing, because guys are usually not ready when people say they are.

I think when people say that someone is ready for the NBA, they are more or less referring to their style of play and/or body. McLemore's style will translate well over as will his body. However, it's unfair to expect ANY rookie to figure out the speed and mental aspects of the NBA right off the bat.

FWIW, as much as I like McLemore, I'm all in on the Anthony Bennett plus Andrew Wiggins sweepstakes.

Honestly, I would consider trading back with the number 1 pick and drafting Bennett or Len a few spots later. If you can pick up a high draft pick next year or a good young player in the trade I would pull the trigger. As much as I like Mclemore, a big guy is such a huge need for this team that it may be worth it.

Plus, every time I watch Len play he impresses me more. He plays great defense on the pick and roll, and I think his offensive game is going to take off once out of the Maryland system. I dont think he has the mindset to be a 20 ppg type player, but his game is so well rounded and just seems meant for the NBA

I'd prefer changing the name to Hornets, trading down, getting Noel and another pick or a veteran and winning at least 25-30 games next year

Well, I still feel that Shabazz is the best scorer in the draft and I would take him over McLemore. However, I am all aboard the Noel bandwagon and have been for a good month or so. We need that good inside presence on defense. We need better rebounding. We need someone that can set picks for Kemba and roll to the basket. Look what McRoberts has done for us since he's arrived... he's made us a much better team, and that's by adding just one big who has solid offense and makes solid rotations on defense.

My only issue is if we draft Noel... what about Biz? His progress in the 2nd half has been pretty good.

Noel is the #1 pick, Mclemore blew any shot he had at it with his inconsistent play in the tourney. If we do end up with the first pick, I hope we can trade Bismack for something because I dont see any way those guys can play together inside. Considering Noel probably wont be back until around the trade deadline next year there will be some time to work out a deal (especially if Bismack can show some improvement out of the gate next season)

I like Noel, but i really like Biz as well, and he has played so well and is such a hard worker, I'd like to keep him. I think Bazz offers the highest skill set. The dude did so much more for UCLA than just score, he truly did it all for them. Rebounds, assists, defense, you name it he did it. LIke thatlookseasy said, McLemore is out of the discussion IMO. I'm personally stuck between Bazz and Noel

assuming we get a top 2 pick, I think we have to take Noel if available. It will suck to suck again next year, but
he the closest thing to a sure thing in this draft.

I was on the McLemore bandwagon until the tourney. It appears he can go wallflower, no killer instinct.

wouldn't mind him with 3rd pick, be a tough call on the second.

Bazz? I don't know. I think he'll be a good player, but I don't know about picking him with 1 or 2.

Still want McLemore and Noel right behind him. Not high at all on Shabazz.

I do not want Bazz...at all. I don't like the attitude he has and really his skill set doesn't justify it IMHO.

If we keep Hendo then I'd rank them in the following order: 1. Noel, 2. Bazz, 3. McLemore.

In this scenario we don't really have a need for another shooting guard like McLemore, but we do need a PF, so Noel fits the bill. But a good alternative might Bazz because he can play both the SG and SF position, which could keep both Hendo and MKG on their toes to keep improving and performing to a high standard.

If we don't keep Hendo then I'd rank them: 1. McLemore, 2. Noel, 3. Bazz

In this scenario I would think that our shooting guard position would be the better void to fill. I like McLemore and think he would make a good addition, and perhaps a better one than Bazz. For the PF we could always bring back McRoberts and draft a PF later, or go into free agency and try to persuade one of Al Jefferson, Millsapp, or another PF free agent to come here. Though I guess we could still draft Noel and go for a guard like Monta Ellis in free agency, though some debate his actual worth.

My preferred pick?

Nerlens Noel. Sure he will be coming off a knee injury, but hopefully he bounces back. The guy has the right size and ability to make an impact at PF. Plus, if Biz doesn't work out as we want, but Noel does, then we could move him to center.
