A former adviser says that back during the 2011 lockout, currently unemployed (but future Hall of Fame) QB Vince Young took out a loan of $300,000 plus...

...to throw a party (link)

The former financial adviser for ex-NFL quarterback Vince Young said under oath that he arranged a high-interest, seven-figure loan for Young during the 2011 lockout because the player wanted to throw himself a $300,000 birthday party even though he was running low on funds.

Ronnie Peoples, president and CEO of Peoples Financial Service Inc. in Raleigh, N.C., said during a videotaped deposition last month that he contacted New York-based Pro Player Funding LLC about the loan after being informed that Young had already paid for the party.

''I think we still would have been OK to go ahead and survive until the next season, but he had a birthday event coming up that he paid 300 and some thousand dollars for,'' Peoples testified. ''That's what prompted that call.''

A transcript of Peoples' deposition, taken Jan. 16 in Raleigh, was obtained by The Associated Press.

I constantly hear him referred to as "future hall of fame".

Is that a joke, or is it a reference that I am not catching?

I am being dead serious, I have always wanted to know the deal with it.

A few years ago, someone on the board (I forget who) posted a thread about how Vince Young would someday be in the Hall of Fame. If I remember correctly, it was based on Young himself proclaiming that he'd be a Hall of Famer.

A few of us were, shall we say, doubtful.

The folly of said proclamations is now rather obvious.

You know, I remember the thread actually, I just never clicked on it, I thought it was a troll.

Didn't he score like a 6 on the Wonderlic? I think a score of 10 is supposed to mean you're at least literate...

I'm thinking a nine. Pretty sure it was single digits.

Seriously, what kind of priorities do you have to have to take out a loan to pay for a party?

That'd be a pretty dumbass thing to do even while you were in good financial status. Doing it while you're having difficulty? Sheesh

Is there any doubt left that this guy's elevator does not stop on all floors?

No argument from me that he's definitely got his priorities screwed up (and that's an understatement).

But I just looked up his Wonderlic score and it was in fact a 6. His elevator not stopping on all floors? Lol, I think that thing has had an 'out of order' sign on it for quite some time now.

Right now I'd say the only thing he's qualified for is a competition for "dumbest unemployed football player with the last name of Young". Between Vince and Titus, I'd say it's likely to be a fierce contest.
