Allen had a PCL sprain, that did not require surgery. Hunter had a knee reconstruction, big difference.
And they are around the same speed now and Justin hasn't fully regained his speed coming back from his injury.
That says something right there.

or lets compare their depth at WR to this teams.lets compare how they had talent their already but yet they brought in more help to that position.it is a passing league, and you need to have multiple weapons to catch the ball.Yes let's keep comparing a team who hasn't made the playoff on 4 years to Superbowl contenders.

its about obtaining talent. i agree LB and RB go later unless you are Hurney, but WR talent goes in the top 15 a lot more because it is a passing league. again those teams where stacked at WR and still brought in more talent at that position. this team has not. if you are basing a #1 WR off college production like you said in a previously than there are several guys who could make that transition to the NFL. some who are projected around when we pick at 14.Or let's compare a team who had late 1 St round pick so their options weren't the same as s team with a top 15 pick. Since most people who does there research. Could see that big time linemen Cb, and QB go early and Wr, LB, and Rb go later.

patterson has 'it'.he's got natural talent, through the roof upside. raw? absolutely, but he has everything that you want in a raw talent. he's smart (football smart anyway), incredibly coachable, and demonstrable growth. he's a playmaker. he's a guy you find ways to get the ball in his hands. he's green, but growing. he won't come into the league polished and he will be a project, but he'll be one like that other very raw talent with through the roof potential that many others said was too sloppy, had too bad mechanics and footworks and was just too unproven to warrant a #1 pick.
he's a risk, but one well worth taking and not nearly as big a risk as people think.
silva is right on target about this guy.

agreed with that for the most part. I'm not into limiting our options for early picks to just a couple positions. i want us to take the BPA, esp. if it's an area of need, which WR most definitely is.well i never wanted wr in the 1st really. i think all the talent/(guys who will not be bust) is in the 2-4 rounds.
i never said take bpa wr at 14.
im just saying if smith got hurt or retires out of the blue...you are left with nothing.
you would have lafell and olsen......every other wr on the panthers are not going to cut it.
also when smith is on the field, you can have someone to take double coverage off of him constantly, so he can get open and make long gains more often. newton deep ball is very nice and accurate for 90% of the time.
if the gettleman can come in and draft wr like percy, hilton, maclin who can come in and perform right away then the panthers would be better off.
