Allen had a PCL sprain, that did not require surgery. Hunter had a knee reconstruction, big difference.

And they are around the same speed now and Justin hasn't fully regained his speed coming back from his injury.

That says something right there.

I'd be content if there is a WR worthy of a 1st or 2nd otherwise, I don't think it would be an upgrade.

Yes let's keep comparing a team who hasn't made the playoff on 4 years to Superbowl contenders.

or lets compare their depth at WR to this teams.lets compare how they had talent their already but yet they brought in more help to that position.it is a passing league, and you need to have multiple weapons to catch the ball.

Or let's compare a team who had late 1 St round pick so their options weren't the same as s team with a top 15 pick. Since most people who does there research. Could see that big time linemen Cb, and QB go early and Wr, LB, and Rb go later.

its about obtaining talent. i agree LB and RB go later unless you are Hurney, but WR talent goes in the top 15 a lot more because it is a passing league. again those teams where stacked at WR and still brought in more talent at that position. this team has not. if you are basing a #1 WR off college production like you said in a previously than there are several guys who could make that transition to the NFL. some who are projected around when we pick at 14.

I know we need help on both o line and d line, as well as WR and secondary....But from what i saw 2 season ago Cam flourished with the two TE system of Shockey and Olsen so I'm just going to throw this out, First round Tyler Eifert ND

No when you have a late round pick the BPa list gets small and more important. You can't compare a team with a top 14 pick and more option then a team picking in the late 20' with none.

Yes please.

seconded. case made.

patterson has 'it'.he's got natural talent, through the roof upside. raw? absolutely, but he has everything that you want in a raw talent. he's smart (football smart anyway), incredibly coachable, and demonstrable growth. he's a playmaker. he's a guy you find ways to get the ball in his hands. he's green, but growing. he won't come into the league polished and he will be a project, but he'll be one like that other very raw talent with through the roof potential that many others said was too sloppy, had too bad mechanics and footworks and was just too unproven to warrant a #1 pick.

he's a risk, but one well worth taking and not nearly as big a risk as people think.

silva is right on target about this guy.

well i never wanted wr in the 1st really. i think all the talent/(guys who will not be bust) is in the 2-4 rounds.

i never said take bpa wr at 14.

im just saying if smith got hurt or retires out of the blue...you are left with nothing.

you would have lafell and olsen......every other wr on the panthers are not going to cut it.

also when smith is on the field, you can have someone to take double coverage off of him constantly, so he can get open and make long gains more often. newton deep ball is very nice and accurate for 90% of the time.

if the gettleman can come in and draft wr like percy, hilton, maclin who can come in and perform right away then the panthers would be better off.

OK we got it. You want to take a risky project at 14. Your own words . Great plan.

agreed with that for the most part. I'm not into limiting our options for early picks to just a couple positions. i want us to take the BPA, esp. if it's an area of need, which WR most definitely is.

aside from smith, we have no real threat at receiver. we have reliable, but no one scary and patterson is just that.

regardless of what self proclaimed experts in here who are just sure that patterson or any WR in the draft is not worth the pick at 14 is just being narrow minded. no one "knows". i will say that as draft day nears, patterson is going to be climbing up people's boards and you're going to hear more NFL execs talk about him. patterson may or may not get selected in the first round. he may or may not be our pick. same with any WR or any other position. i don't know, but one thing i do know is that I'm definitely not going to write him or really any top prospect at any position of need...or even one that isn't a need, which MLB wasn't by many last year.

the door is wide open.

I didn't read all 12 pages but the logic that we have to draft a wide receiver or pick one up because we under performed last year is not borne out by the numbers. We may have scored 19 TDs passing all year, but we scored 13 of those in the last 8 games when we changed offensive philosophies using the same receivers we had all year. And that includes the last 2 games where we only scored 1 passing TD because we ran the ball in the redzone. It isn't that we didn't have the receivers so much as we wasted a lot of time on the read option and telegraphed our intentions tipping off the defense most of the time.

I am fine with picking a receiver high in the draft but I also believe the guys we have could have been more productive last year and should be this year It was the offensive scheme not the receivers that held back Cam and the offense.

Here we go Cam is the example you come up with.

Dude i've ask you this before ( which you've avoided the question) but can I get 1 or 2 "WR" as the example of this? Since we are talking about WR can I get a Wr as the example. What WR this raw this unpolished with this little of college production and experience was a top 20 pick?
