This coming from a guy who only had purebred breeds until his first rescue. Never going back.

We got Izzy at Animal Control out by the Airport. It was my first time ever going to a place like that. I cried ...

it's so sad to see all those faces looking at you ...begging you to take them home!

Whoever dropped my little girl off a shelter ...a kill shelter is beyond me...

it's $100 to adopt..it's cheaper..and you're saving a life

Puppy Mill dogs can be more mentally F'ed than Mutts.

my brother went to the shelter and saw a beautiful dog (a lab or something) with a waiting list of potential adoptees. The dog next cage had no waiting list and just an execution date. The next day. He took one look at that dog and took him home, had him for 14 years. He swore the dog knew what was coming and was extra nice to him because of that.

nice timing...I was just going to suggest that Arsen should adopt Johnny Rockets for a weekend as a trial. DOn't think he can lick his own balls, but other than that, he's a dog!

Yea, tell me about it. I volunteered at that shelter for over 4 years and I helped many dogs to find a new home. If a dog don't get adopted within 3-4 months, it will be put to sleep. I also seen them putting dogs to sleep, they got an animal crematorium right in the back.

lol she does nip at them...and older men with white hair...

This little girl came into my house a few weeks back...as soon as she walked in the door, Izzy peed on the tile in the foyer..she has never peed in the house..she was absolutely terrified of this little devil..I mean, girl...her bottom lip was quivering.....Not sure how I can fix it....bring her around kids and watch them very very closely I guess.

With a rescue..you never know what they've been thru before they get to you.
