Iron Man - Sabbath
Crazy Train - Ozzy
Black Dog - Zeppelin
Carry On My Wayward Son - Kansas
La Grange - ZZ Top
Bulls on Parade - RATM
Cat Scratch Fever and Stranglehold - Nugent
Cocaine - Clapton
Davidian - Machine Head
Pretty much anything by Dimebag
Come as You Are - Nirvana
Voodoo Chile - Hendrix/SRV
Jessica - Allman Brothers
Message in a Bottle - The Police
Pride and Joy - SRV
Holy Diver - Dio
Going the Distance - Cake

Just off the top of my head... some have already been mentioned... could probably think of a thousand more if given the time... and these don't really include the metal I listen to...

I'm surprised no one's mentioned Eric Johnson's "Cliffs of Dover"

If you lived in the 80s and went to see any hard rock or glam metal band play, it was always playing right before the show started.

Great lists. A few I'd forgotten about.

One I would add probably isn't considered great, but it definitely gets stuck in my head - When I Come Around by Green Day

eta: Shine by Collective Soul

Another edit: had wrong green day song

When I'm feeling my whitest, the intros to these songs make me wanna punch someone in the throat and thrash.

(when the actual riffs kick in on these two below)

I'd say "Seven Nation Army" is the catchiest/most recognizable riff of the last 20 years.

Few of my favs:

Mannish Boy - Muddy Waters
Cissy Strut - The Meters
Love me 2 times - Doors
Purple Haze - Jimi
The Ocean - Zeppelin (just about any Zeppelin song really)
