When I'm feeling my whitest, the intros to these songs make me wanna punch someone in the throat and thrash.

(when the actual riffs kick in on these two below)

I'd say "Seven Nation Army" is the catchiest/most recognizable riff of the last 20 years.

Few of my favs:

Mannish Boy - Muddy Waters
Cissy Strut - The Meters
Love me 2 times - Doors
Purple Haze - Jimi
The Ocean - Zeppelin (just about any Zeppelin song really)

Some more of my favorites/most memorable:

Jimi is my favorite guitarist of all-time, so here you go... Yes, I know, how unique of me.

I don't know that this qualifies as a riff as we like to think of it, but I just wanted to put it up here because it's one of my favorite songs of all-time:

Lenny is one of my favorite musicians of all-time as well. Even though his stuff is relatively simple in technique, as a multi-instrumentalist he brings it altogether like no other:

(i actually can't remember if the intro was from slash on this one, but i think it was)

And from my childhood...

(the Dookie album changed my life, lol)

And I may be alone on this, but MAN, this is right up there in my favorite songs of all-time list as well. Foo Fighters are awesome...
