Huddlers, I am meeting someone this weekend to potentially buy a couple of panther helmets. They may or may not be game worn helmets. One is in a case, one is not (I don't think they are signed). He knows nothing about them (long story)....
What price range should I pick these up for? I don't want to overpay, and would like to get it for a deal.

Are those screws rusted in that first pic? Idk as far as price. Looks like they go anywhere from 25 (bid) to 80 bucks (buy it now) So depending on the actual quality when you see em I'd go somewhere in between. Be a nice addition to a collection though.

I would think if it were game worn there would be a trace of the number inside somewhere. Sharpie or something. Thats just from personally playing. Idk collectibles wise.

the display cases cost around $40

If its a game worn helmet it should have a players jersey # in it but not always

The 1st pic of the helmet scares me with the sticker peeling, I have a UNC Full size helmet Peppers auto and it's a replica and the sticker is peeling

Of the two, the first one would have the best chance of being a game worn helmet. Looking at the facemask, it looks like a helmet from one of the trench players. Given how big those guys are, check to see the size of the helmet. I doubt it would be a game worn helmet if it is a smaller than a large/xlarge.

The mini helmet would be about $25 new, that case is definitely not a $40 like Jason said, $20-25 max

The other helmet is definitely not just a replica as it wouldn't have ever been sold with that facemask, whether its practice or game used, or even just a team issued helmet but not used makes a huge difference

If just issued and not used, I'd put it around $175-200

If used in practice, I'd to $250ish

If game used, $300-500, really depends on whose it was and if there is any documentation and/or significant signs of being used/beat up in games

if you can't prove anything about them then it is not worth that much regardless...

so if he says they are worn, and it's his word of mouth, that is not proof and means nothing

with no proof I'd take it all for $40.
