If we let DeAngelo Go.....

Goodson ain't coming back.

My guess is that we will stick with Stewart and Tolbert, and if the front office feels we need a rb, they might spend a draft pick or sign a backup.

I understand that it was with a different GM, but we hung onto Poole and Armond Smith for a reason. I think if we cut D-will, our backfield looks like Stewart as the starter, Tolbert as the FB and Poole as a backup with Smith on the PS, ready to come up if needed.

Goodson played well???? What did he do against us??? 4 carries for 12 yards??

In his 4 year career he has a total of 160 carries for 720 yards. 4.3 yards per carry with 1 TD and 7 fumbles. Seriously, more fumbles lost (4) than touchdowns.

I would rather bring in a draft pick with potential than a guy who has proven he has little to offer.

THIS^^^^^

My only problem with sticking with Stew and Tobert. Where is the speed? Where is the homerun threat? I mean, where is that scatback type RB? I am not sure you can just pick one of those up in the draft.

So maybe Pilares and Adams can be used to run those spread plays? But that doesn't sound like a real solution to me. That aspect of the running game does concern me if we lose DWill.

The fact that Goodson didn't do much against us is irrelevant. Mcfadden had a worse game ypc wise than Goodson did. Our defense was pretty good that day. The reason we wouldn't take him is tjhat we know what he is, a fast elusive back who fumbles a lot.

If/when we lose DWill we will then see how the powers that be feel about his contributions. If they go with Poole or Smith, you can either feel good that they trust these guys, or if we draft a RB you can feel like they maybe didn't trust either one. Gonna be interesting to see how this all plays out.

Redo DWill and we are a better team. Lose DWill and our offense loses a vital cog. Glad I don't have to make these desicions. Cuz i would do everything I possibly could to keep DWill on this team.

Cutting Gamble pretty much puts us back to even. Redo Gross and the rookies are taken care of. After that you are fee to finalge away. Cut Nakamora and Dwan and you have the 3mil to sign Canty. Redo/cut Beast and you can affor Byrd.

This year, we can upgrade RG and TE through midlevel FA that will be on modest one year deals. So our draft is pretty much a free ride. We can take the Best Playmaker on our board in the first two rounds. Chances are whatever position they play they will start, and we get two playmakers.

It has been a long time, maybe even never, since we have seen an offseason like this one. Perfect storm for Gettlemen. He doesn't have to spend a ton of money, to get that talent he is so known to find.

This team could look vastly different next year. And with every change comes an upgrade.

What is relevant is that the best game Goodson had all year was for 89 yards on 13 carries. He didn't have a 100 yard game all season. In fact he hasn't had one in the past 2 seasons. McFadden on the other hand had 3 this year. For that matter McFadden isn't that great either.

Goodson has not shown that he can be reliable in any facet of his game.

This is what I think. D'Will is a much bigger big play threat than any of the other guys on our rosters. Except for maybe Smitty.

I do realize that we may lose DWill. I am just going to remain hopeful he returns until he is actually gone. Redo that contract and find a way to keep him. You cannot let your playmaker get away. Especially when you have precious few to begin with.

Damm this offseason is wackier than usual. Gotta love it.

Don't get me wrong, I certainly don't want him.

But he was the number 2 running back behind Mcfadden on a team that was bottom 5 in the league in rushing attempts and top 5 in the league in passing attempts. He also missed 4 or 5 games with injury, so I wouldn't expect him to have any 100 yard games under those circumstances.
