Here's my take on him. He knows Cam, he does pose somewhat of a threat, and he should be a year better. (Both system wise, and physically.) Howoever, he needs to improve his routes, become stronger, at the line and downfield, and fix those pesky drops.

IMO,. I just don't believe Gettlemen is going to be afraid of upgrading this position. So if he wants to stay on this team he had better shine. Maybe he can bug Cam for some practice time to give him an edge.

I would agree with all you're saying if he was a rookie or 2nd year guy. But he's 25 and has now had 4 years in the league. If he hasn't fixed his route running and stopped dropping the ball and, basically, stopped looking afraid of catching the ball and turning up field by now there's a good chance he won't. You were probably correct in not counting him as an active WR. I do hope Gettleman thinks long and hard about upgrading at WR #3.

You very well could be right. He may have hit his competency level and is not going to get any better. This will be his second year in our system. If there ever was a time for him to make hay, this is it.

With Smitty, Lafell, and Olsen he is at best the 4th option. So it is not like he has to be all world. Improvement is needed for the teams sake, and his. But barring any unforseen miracle, he is never going to be more than a #3 WR around here. So I guess anything we get out of him is just gravy anyway,
