Bucs' Da'quan Bowers arrested

I doubt he'll get what Plax got. Without knowing the details of Plax's case, it seems like he got that much time as a deal to avoid whatever time comes with discharging said firearm. Again I could be wrong, but as someone that is very familiar with plea bargains, I'd say he'll get less than Plax got.

Apparently he didn't try to take it through security, instead he realized he had forgotten to take it out of his bag and notified the lady at the check-in counter. Seems like he was trying to do the right thing after realizing he screwed up. Unfortunately he should've been smart enough to know that he would still be arrested, if he had someone he knew in New York he should've called them up and handed it off to them or ditched it in a trash can instead of telling on himself. He could buy a new S&W .40 for about $400-500, which is way cheaper than the tens of thousands in legal fees and additional jail time.

So they would have a better chance carrying around a handgun in their pants, instead of hiring a body guard? Mmmmmk

No.

I didnt say that at all.....

I mean do you even read the post you qoute?

What IAM SAYING is, I cant blame him for carrying a gun.

Bodyguard or no bodyguard, id still want my own.

What do you think bodyguards are some kind of magical bullet fairies who cant be shot or killed?

Its called plan B.

Remember the linebacker for the Washington Redskins was killed in his home?

And wasn't there 1 player for the Broncos That was killed in a limousine with Champ Bailey or something?

With things like that happening to high profile Athletes I wouldn't blame him for carrying a gun but to an airport that is a different story.

He was a safety not a linebacker and his name was Sean taylor

I don't understand why athletes carry guns. They have all the money in the world, they don't need to slum it in places where crimes occur.

Yes, and apparently since he disclosed that he had the gun it will be pretty easy to knock it from 2nd degree down to 3rd degree which doesn't carry any jail time. (Credit Mike Florio for that from an interview this A.M. On WFNZ).

These same guys have access to FREE car service via an 800 number for when they get shitfaced yet it seems like every month you hear about a player getting a DUI.

    • No doubt, He had an amazing game against a pretty crappy O-Line.  Give him his props for that.  I would have loved to see him get MVP.   Have you ever heard of Timmy Smith?  Super Bowl MVP running back for the Washington Redskins.   He played the game of his life in the game of his life.  And was out of football a year or two later.  Ealy, rookie year all performance was a rookie expectations.  2nd year expect some improvement and outside the Super Bowl he was consistently inconsistent.  3rd year proof in the making he had hit his ceiling.  "The roof is the ceiling" or "the ceiling is the roof" or something like that. Sporadic player at best.   I am not in belief that Billicheat is some great guru that turns mortals into gods.  He'll be about the same as he was with us.   Mediocre at best with one or two games to think he is about to breakout.
    • Put up or shut up Zimmerman boy
    • McCaffery is significantly quicker in the other agility drills plus edges him out in vertical and broad jumps. He's more explosive and been more productive. The analysis on NFL prospect page says Samuel is stiff and that is made evident by not being as quick in the drills that matter.
