Hawk and I were discussing... a lot of the threads in here (and in the Panthers forum) often end up with, at minimum, racial overtones... if not outright discussion about racial issues.

What you say? Is the Tinderbox enough, or should we have a completely separate forum for that?

Somebody's gonna get banned. Instead there should just be a wall with the " I have a dream " speech so people can be enlightened before race bating

I totally agree Biscuit. A thread similar to the Smack Forum....pretty much an anything goes, no bans/warnings thread so that everyone can just vent and bitch and moan and speak how they feel with no fear of discipline.

biggest win would be, getting it out of all the other forums....within 6 months, it would be the biggest forum on the huddle!

And whats more the powers that be around this place should be more active with the ban hammer over some of the race bullshit. After everything else that Ive seen on this forum for the last 7,8,9, whatever years its the constant unregulated race baiting & bashing that's going to finally run me off.

If you do not want to partake in racial discussions you can simply avoid those threads...or choose not to post if you happen to stumble upon one.

I mean if you really do not have the self control to ignore or not respond to a thread/post to the point where you would need to create a whole other forum just to avoid said discussions/threads/topics than the issue is with you and not vice versa.

yeah, but what if it takes Delhommey 4-5 posts to get a thread to turn racial? wouldn't it be easier to just have a place where he could call home?

I'm certainly not offended... I wouldn't have asked had I not wanted honest opinions... idk if we need it or not, it was just something that we were discussing. There does seem to be a lot of race related discussion.

the thought was rather than dirty up many many threads and forums with racial bullshit, build a sandbox for it and let them fling their crap back and forth all day long!

and like Biscuit said...not offended either...just sick of it. and in my opinion, my mod powers have dwindled to the point where I don't think I can do much about it and even amoungst the group of mods/admins, we don't always agree on what stays and what goes.
