if you'd read the part where i said "as it relates to race-based societal institutionalism" you'd have saved yourself that entire diatribe. of course not every white person comes from priviledge, just like not every minority comes from poverty. maybe you just misread what i wrote.

also let's not attack the false premise of white guilt. it's lazy and counterproductive to attemps at arriving at solutions on these types of topics.

i should have used the *snark* or saracastic button after my first line.

the white guilt thing is towards those white people who think they have it all figured for both blacks and whites when they are out to lunch.

that's not what white guilt is.

and come on man. dont call what i said a diatribe.

it may not have been intended as one, but the entire post was sparked by and aimed at a comment that you misread. and if i'd actually said what you thought i did a diatribe would've been justified because obviously it would've been completely stupid.

also i'm curious if any minorities who post on this board feel patronized and insulted by my attempting to "relate" (which isn't even really the word for it honestly.) takers?

no man. i already said what i said did NOT apply to you.

white guilt leads MANY whites to somehow think they need to do something when even with good intentions, may not do as much good as it original intent. simply because instead of trying to get to have a better relationship with another race, they go with programs etc first. not always but at times do.

for the relate part, that also goes with the white guilt or the white people who think they have a grasp on what other groups or races goes through or has gone thru.

honestly, i rarely even use the word minority. i just say well. nothing. maybe i say fellow co workers or a buddy of mine.

but you are taking what i said in the wrong fashion. like i said a few times within my previous posts, this was not geared towards you in the slightest.

racism will only ever go away when everyone of all colors makes it go away!

to blame the white is partially true, but to blame the black is also partially true.

What pisses me off the most is those that think everything is about race. Maybe, just maybe, someone might dislike you because you are an asshole, not because you are white...and maybe just maybe, someone might hire you because you are the best qualified, not jut because you are black...and back and forth and forth and back.

as I said...other than Lady Panther who is baby blue, you are all black to me

Colleges and Universities charge too much but this is a completely different discussion.

Scholarships should be based on a combination of race, demographics, and more importantly income levels.

That is not a scholarship....that is a grant.

No problem with need based grants that are based on race, demographics, etc.

If it is an academic scholarship, it should go to the most qualified candidate....regardless if race and gender.
