Dumb bill. Nobody is truly anonymous. If I threaten Pstall with bodily harm he can sue to get my IP information or maybe Zod would just out me.

I think there are good points to it as far as lying and disinformation, but the bad would far out weigh the good due to PC stuff. Thought police should never rule. Name calling however, might decrease a bit.

don't see how this is achievable.

Might as well try to legislate 365 sunny days per year.

Well, there are ways around the IP information, such as using an foreign proxy.

But yes, its a dumb bill and will never pass constitutional reviews. You would think a congressmen would have people that would do a little research for him. The SC has already shot down similar legislation and in fact, anonymous comments have been allowed for a long time.

As far as what it would do to the huddle, that depends on how seriously zod enforced it. I could call myself ralph smith and how would he know I am not ralph smith? Lots of newspapers and other public forums now require you to use your facebook login, but those can be faked as well.

It's not the first time some dumb senator would do this. It won't be the last. It's not going anywhere.

this is a pretty interesting article. I can think of a handful of posters on the huddle who would vanish instantly. It's easy to sit behind a computer and make racist remarks when you don't have to account for yourself.

Look what happened to Grits once Philly exposed him. You won't see that guy anymore here and the board is a better place because of it.

This is one of the most idiotic ideas I've ever seen from a politician. I would question if that guy's fit to hold a public office.
