I did not see this posted by a beat writer, but somehow ran across it a little bit ago on Yahoo.

Sounds like he is going to be a special teamer. Good.

I was really hoping never to see that clown in a Panthers uniform again.

Guy is smart. Just not athletic enough for the position.
He's worth keeping for ST play IMO.

so instead of saving a million cap hit by cutting him, he restructures to where the hit is only $500,000

He wasn't smart enough to NOT let Roddy White behind him twice in one game.

He was "known" as a ST'er in Balt, let him fight for a roster spot here in the same capacity.

Not a nakamura fan but we need ST depth for sure.

Decent depth and lowers the cap. Good move.

I think eventually he'll make a heck of a coach. I love his attitude and personality but I hate seeing him as the last line of defense.

Nice find OP.

His new cap hit is not much above the league minimum.Basically serves the same purpose of cutting him and bringing in another scrub to fill the roster.

If we find better depth for the same money we can cut him and only take a 65k cap hit(his new guarantee).

Good move by Gettleman.

he's a scrub. pretty much getting paid like a scrub. won't be counting against the cap since i doubt that number puts him in the top 53.

he'll be fighting for a roster spot in training camp and it will be a sad commentary on the state of the secondary if he makes the final 53.
