I don't think that you've seen Patterson play, no offense. The guy is going to be amazing. Jaw-droppingly good. He may not be Calvin Johnson, but he is easily on the same level as Julio Jones when he was entering the league. The guy is absolutely incredible.

Let's not get carried away.

Unless your willing to trade up and spend 5 picks on him he's not on Julio level coming out.

I'm a Patterson fan and would love us to draft him...but he isn't quite on Julio's level coming out of college.

I just don't see him dropping to us at #14. I'd expect Miami to grab him up if he has a great combine and Dee Milliner is off of the board.

I love Patterson as much as the next guy, but no way we trade up and no way he fails to us. Plus the is so many quality wr's in the draft such as Austin, Allen, Willams, etc.

Anyone with doubts, go watch his highlights. The guy has vision with the ball in his hands that practically borders on ESP. He's got the size, the speed, and while he is raw you can coach the fundamentals. You can't coach the type of raw playmaking ability he has.

I was on the Cam bandwagon in 2011. I was one of the first ones here on the Luke Kuechly bandwagon in 2012. For all the same reasons that I wanted us to take Cam, I think Patterson is our guy. The similarities are certainly there, both in terms of his troubled past, the one year wonder claims, but also - and more importantly - the insane natural talent and athletic ability.

Let's bring these two beasts together for the next 10-12 years.

With a strong combine and proday he will be gone by 14. His stock is on the rise.

Unfortunately I think you are right.

I wouldn't use a first round pick on a kick returner because that is all I see in him right now. He doesn't attack the ball like you would want a number 1 WR to do. If he was there in the second yes but from what you guys are saying he may not even last to our first pick.

what trouble past, and he is more than a returner. when he had to attack the ball he did, and caught the ball away from his body with his hands. the body catching thing will get coached out of him. Silva write up was great on him, and it proves that his route running is not that bad.

There's better wide receivers in this draft... kick returning not included in that

If he runs 4.4 or below, he'll be gone by 10. I really hope we get him, but I just don't see it happening. Once he puts his numbers up GMs will be salivating to get him.

He should be running his 40 in about 10 minutes.

Edit - Guess not, first group of WR still working out.

Whenever he signs his contract, Patterson should immediately write a check to NC State corner back David Amerson.

Patterson running a 4.37 means we won't get him. He's going top 10 for sure.
