We may be deep at DE but he sounds like a player that can line up just about anywhere in the front 7. He's also the type of player Rivera has seemed to favor(Applewhite being a prime example), and consistent with the type of player DG has seemed to favor(JPP, Kiwanuka) Only been playing for a short while and flashes some serious upside.

What say you?

The Giants didn't shy away from JPP or Kiwanuka when they already had Tuck and Osi. Even with their o line aging and tons of questions in the defensive backfield. Theres not a DB, DT, WR, or OL outside of the top 5 projected that I like as much as this guy. Especially for where we are right now. There is a ton of veteran leadership for him and I'm sure his presence on the team could help keep the fire burning for those veterans. If he blows up the combine he could go before 14 imo.

Giants and Panthers are two different teams...

The only way I see us taking Ansah is if Gettleman doesn't think he can lock up Hardy and Cam next season so he drafts Ansah and trades Hardy

Hardy Johnson and Ansah can all line up multiple positions on the DL and Ansah and Johnson can play well standing up. Could easily be one of those "we took a guy we felt could help 'us' the most" over we drafted a guy because we needed someone at that position. The later being what Gettleman was recently quoted as saying he'll look to FA for. I just hope this is the "Gettleman style" pick most easily envisioned when looking at what has been said since his hiring in concurrence with his track record.

If we fill needs in FA like gettleman says he's supposed to, and follows his BPA strategy. He could be the pick and he's not as raw as people say he is, has good instincts and alot of football smarts

I agree.

Big Uglies are the thing we need the most, but if the two top DT's are gone along with the 3 OT's and Warmack, then this guy could be the ticket. Saw the same write up on JPP and DG

Highly athletic Ziggy Ansah sets the tone for defensive linemen with a 4.62 forty-yard dash.

Like him, but dont see it happening, we already have three good 3 down DEs on the roster. Not enough snaps to go around. That means that somebody would have to get a lot of work at the DT position when all of them are best rushing off the edge. We should look for a bigger guy to rush inside.

Doubt he makes it to us. He is likely top 10. But i'd be happy to get him.
