Combine Winners and Losers

Although LB isn't a need for us...I was browsing through the combine results for linebackers and this Cornelius Washington guy might have had the most impressive combine out of anyone, and yet I haven't heard him mentioned anywhere. I've never heard of him so I'm sure he had a pretty lackluster college career, but damn he blew up every combine drill. A 4.55 40 (2nd among LBs), 36 reps on the bench press (1st by a whole 7 reps), a 39-inch vertical (2nd), and a 128-inch broad jump (3rd). That combo of speed/athleticism and size/strength (he's 6'4 265 lbs btw) is insane.

I'm not saying we should ****** this guy up in the 1st round or anything, but he might be worth a 5th-7th round pick as a pass-rushing OLB or a DE. Seems like he has crazy potential. Anyone heard of this guy?

Person's take in full...

Granted, dropping passes doesn't hurt a corner as much as it would a receiver. Still, if he showed poor hands, that may indeed turn some teams off.

Lmfao at "dazzled" He looked horrible all day long. He was sketchy in his footwork and dropped everything. Person needs to stop slurping the kool-aid.

Jesse Williams not considered a Combine Loser?

He only did the bench press and after talking 45 - 50 reps only did 30.

Another guy who will really be wanting to impress at his College Pro day.

Sketchy footwork is typical of Saban-coached CBs.

Also typically athletic up the wazoo. Make college plays using their amazing athleticism when that dominating Bama front-seven is eating the opposing QB alive.

Man I really hope we get Tyrann Mathieu....For some reason he reminds me of a Steve Smith on defence lol....Kids a baller

Me too as long as he's got his personal issues worked out. Something about him I like... may be that kinda cockiness that Smitty has.

Yeah, dude his hips were wide open on the drill where they were back pedaling and changing directions to locate the ball. Once, he almost stopped in the drill and fell down. Just like Dre K. last year, if they can't jam you and maul you at the line, Alabama DBs are pedestrian. The Honey Badger was the best overall DB at the combine by a margin.

Matheiu is the perfect nickel back. Wouldn't necessarily improve our coverage (poor in man coverage WHILE at LSU) but don't be discouraged by his strength. Led LSU in total tackles in 2011 and that's over some damn good players. I want him, and I think his stock will climb closer to the draft once people realize this guy still has "it". He will be a dynamic punt returner and kick returner from the start and a turnover machine.

Well, Joe Adams was about as much of a lock to be a instant impact returner as you can be....

Could this combine flop make Warmack slide to 14? I'd be happy with that.

We need someone with no question marks.

WR, DT, and DB should be priorities. Not necessarily in that order, but by BPA between the positions.
