Alex Smith Traded To The Chiefs (How This Could Effect The Panthers Draft)

90 posts in this topic

Alex Smith was traded to the Chiefs for two second round picks. The 49ers now (*possibly) have 15 picks in this years draft... Yes that's right (*possibly) FIFTEEN. Since the 49ers need help in their secondary they could be looking to trade up for someone like Vaccaro or Rhodes. Your thoughts?

They also cut Matt Cassel. Potential backup here in Carolina?

I'd take Cassel as a back up here in a heart beat. Especially if that means good bye Clausen.

My thoughts are they have 15 and we have a fuging handful. Pisses me off. Stockpiling picks and drafting a lot of talent is the way to compete. See Patriots.

He'll probably be relativily cheap.. But I think I'd pass on him

I have never heard of a team EVER having that many picks. I think they will be looking to trade up if they find someone they really like. Otherwise I could actually see them trading back and stockpiling more. That franchise is fuging legit.
