The Chiefs could have been smarter about this. I can understand their desperation for a QB, but to give up a high draft pick for a guy like Alex Smith? That would be like trading away a late first round pick for a guy like Marc Bulger.

They could have drafted a QB in the third, and got the same kind of skills Alex Smith offers. Terrible move.

I agree they should have picked up Matt Moore in FA and taken a 2nd or 3rd round qb.

Not going to happen, but I'd STILL take Geno.

If I have been hearing Smith compared to Aaron Brooks, still do it. Smith may give you some short term success over Cassel, but I think Geno's ceiling is way higher than what Alex has shown.

I'd keep pulling the trigger on QB's until you find your guy. You reaaaaaally think KC is ready to invest the future into Alex Smith? 0_0

Geno is just like Chris Weinke on the field great passer but cant handle the pressure. He will most likely be a big bust if he is thrown onto the field to early.

Agreed. Give Smith his shot, but if I were the cheifs I'd feel so much better knowing there's young potential talent on the bench.

But you have to spend the #1 pick on Geno. Better talent out there that will be on the team for 7-8 years.

that would be essentially two first round picks (#34 is essentially a first rounder) QBs in a row...in the same draft. sorry....not gonna happen.

It probably won't happen, but it wouldn't surprise me if it did. Teams will give up pretty much anything to get a franchise QB and if they feel like Geno is that guy, there you go.

if they felt that geno was their guy, they wouldn't have given up a second for another QB. you don't give up an early pick for a QB you intend to be a short term solution. you don't use two early draft picks in a row on QBs.

they didn't trade for smith so they could draft geno.

It's apparently not in the Chief's DNA to draft QBs. The last QB they drafted who won a game was Todd Blackledge in 1983.

Please tell me you're not actually comparing Smith to Brady...because the gap between those two is so massive, that Brady could play until he's 45..Alex Smith...not so much.
