If Gamble was that bad of a player he would have been gone a long time ago, some people dont know the hell they are talking about and probably havent been fans that long.

It's not that he is a bad player. We are WAY over the cap, he has a huge cap hit, and he hasn't been deserving of that money the past two years. Most fans love Gamble, but know the reality of the situation.

you can't count being on IR as earning his check.

He'll be 30 in about 2 weeks. He'll be 30 by the time we cut him.

Just heard on NFl Sirius that San Fran is not interested in pursuing Revis at this time.

I would like to keep him here, though I don't know if his drop in play before the injury was due to him being dinged up or if he's lost a step.

If they are going to cut him due to cap issues, I think the delay is because we still haven't signed Captain. It would be hard to lose both. Captain would have an advantage negotiating if Gamble was cut. It would be smart to ensure we can sign him before we cut Gamble. Also I have a feeling Captain is going to want starter money and not nickle money.

So according to you every high paid player should be cut if they end up going on IR? Obviously your proving that you rather sit down and crunch how much money a player deserves every single time they step on the field rather than focus on just winning.

You have to have the players on the field to focus on winning. Gamble has been injured and can't live up to that contract. He hasn't made an impact to deserve that contract. We know what he HAS done for us, but what is he doing NOW. There are a few more players on this team who are in Gamble's shoes right now as well.

We'd garner a 5th at best. At best.

He's talented but hes aging injured and is getting paid a ton.

If were dropping gamble to help out the salary cap, you make any trade work. Don't care if its a 7th rounder or some backup offensive lineman. You just get something, if we hold on we might snag a 4th, from a team that needs a corner.
