We are going to get raped once Cam's contract comes up...

Yeah I hope I'm wrong but if I had to bet about Cam being a panther for the next decade or heading to a big market with a new contract .... Ehhh I don't know which one is the safer bet.

He's a superstar in frankly a shitty sports town. The ceiling is only so high here for an icon and entertainer.

I know if I was a star athlete I couldn't stand playing at a stadium like BofA that is constantly overtaken by the opposing teams fans. That would be enough to make me say fug off. I'd want to play in a town where the home fans dominate on game days. Charlotte doesn't even come close.

Wow is this a depressed crowd or what. If you always think the worst that's exactly what you'll get.

Cam going to Dallas would be the type of thing that could cause me to stop watching the pro game. Just has a slimy feel to it.

New England was a barren wasteland before Brady got there. Cleveland was God awful until Lebron was there. I mean there are examples of guys changing a culture of an entire smaller market in sports. Let's hope this is the case with Cam. The sooner he signs that next contract with us, the better. I won't fully relax about it until he does.

We will give him a 5 or 6 year deal at the end of the next season for probably $9- $10M per year maybe $12M. Depends on what he does this year.

That's a lot of money considering Eli gets around $13M and Roethelsbeger gets $12M. Is Cam going to turn this down and risk injury in his 4th year? Does he need or want the press he will get in a bigger market?

When is the last time a player refused a big deal with the team that drafted him?

But it wouldn't be Dallas anyway. They will keep Romo. And no other big market teams come to mind who are struggling for a QB unless you add in Miami

Couple of points:

1. Cam doesn't really like the media, thus a big market might not be in his desires for that reason. He's seen how the media can be a biatch already.

2. Cam is on record saying he could spend his career in Carolina

3. Don't really see a team out there in a big market that will go after him unless something odd happens. I mean... who would it be? Philly maybe? This one is not a big one because just like with Peyton Manning there will be teams that will dump on a guy who is "their guy" to land Cam..... just like we saw with Peyton Manning when he became available... Jets? Dolphins? Houston? It doesnt have to be a huge market team, maybe just one that is ready to win a Super Bowl and a QB would put them over the top. Maybe in two more years the Giants, or the Broncos or someone who looks set at QB needs a QB like Cam... it's just too far off to know.

I know this....Cam would not like a large market, big media team.

Why would he leave? He's already one of the few NFL players that's got gatorade in his pocket. He hates the media, isn't a big party guy and can make the same amount in Charlotte. I mean damn, its the NFL not the NBA. Big difference in the two marketing wise.
