I lived in Charlotte when they first opened the light rail....this was many years ago....
I was pretty pumped when it opened, even though I didn't live uptown.

Have they expanded?
Where are they expanding?
Is it being ran well?

Pray to God it doesn't become MARTA

Next leg is extending the current line to university. Work begins this year, I believe.

MARTA and Charlotte's Lynx LR are so different in so many ways it's not even worth comparing. Don't worry about it "becoming MARTA."

Well construction started in Feb 2005 and 8 years later there are 9.6 miles of operational light rail.

Yeah I don't think we have to worry about it being MARTA in our lifetimes. Our great-great-great grandchildren may see that.
