What's up with Chris Gamble?

What am I wrong about? It's a fact, he gives us over 7 million dollars in immediate cap relief. Stop the melodramatic tantrum about how he's the obvious to get released, because he isn't a fan favorite.

I didn't see that point either.

In this free agent market, you can find good value because there is not a lot of money to throw around. Just add the cap room for all 32 teams and divide by the solid free agents--less $$ and more talent than in years past. We can sign 2 or 3 very good free agents for $8 million total, where the same players might have cost $12 million in the past.

Not only is cutting Gamble obvious on the ledger sheet, it is obvious in other ways. Assuming that fans want CG cut because he is not a fan favorite assumes that he knows why the fans really want him cut and how they feel about him as a player. Both blind assumptions.

HOWEVER...

He brings up one good point (inference)---nothing has been done to Gross either. Why is he less likely to be cut? He is older, slipping, etc. While I would rather keep Gross because he is dependable (missed one game in last 40 or so) and solid (ranked in top 33% of NFL tackles), etc. it does not mean that everyone else should see it that way.

Word on the street is if he's cut, he'll just turn around and sign with Atlanta. Panthers trying hard to not let that happen.

I've made peace with him possibly getting cut, but him going to Atlanta would definitely hurt.

Why don't you cease your tantrum and look up what tunnel vision means?

Is Gamble really that good?

When healthy?

Yes he is, he's a top 10 cover CB and has become pretty damn good against the run too.

Gettman is too slow in cutting the bad expensive Gambles!!

He's old and we all know that 3pm is nappy time for the olds, so he can't get allot accomplished before nap time. Of course dinner is at 5 and then it's nighty night @ 7. So really he's working as hard as he can in the 5 hours or so that he's awake and alert.

Stopped reading there...

I'm like one of the very few people that don't want Gamble to be cut and let it be known

No. He was the most obvious release, because he gives us the most immediate cap relief releasing him.

And you add the fact that hes not getting any younger and has several injury issue over the past 4 seasons. $10 a season is to much for him at this stage of his career. I would actually love to see him restructure his deal and stay with us, but that's on him to decided and for the team to make it happen.

Panthers linebacker gets put on IR 3 seasons in a row: we need to keep Davis and his starting spot shouldn't be given to anybody else

Panthers cornerback who's been one of the best in the league the last two seasons gets put on IR: cut this useless overpaid piece of garbage

I hate this place

Davis is an impact player, Gamble isn't.

I'd like to keep both personally.

I really want to keep Gamble, just not with his current contract.
