Leaked NFL Documents: While Owner Cried Hardship, Carolina Panthers Had $112 Million Profit Over Two Years

168 posts in this topic

Cash flow is all that matters.

Look at page 5.

In 2011, the team lost $48 million and in 2012 the team made $30 million. If you add back the distributions/dividend that Jerry paid to himself and the partners, the team still lost $3 million over the two year period.

Basically, if you understand accounting, you'd see that the Panthers would be absolutely screwed without revenue sharing.

We will have none of that here. There is no place for logic or facts in the Huddle.

That doesn't seem like very much, considering how much the team is worth.

The company I work for is only worth quarter of a billion, and make much higher profits.

I mean, did anyone think we weren't making a profit? lol

No Forbes always said we were making money. And JR opened the checkbook after the CBA was signed so I do believe he was just making a statement.

I will always be bitter about that season though. It was tanked on purpose and i kept going to every game.

You have to add in appreciation of assets. JRs team is worth $1B or so now. Compare that to what he bought it for.

And those numbers are just bottom line profit. There are lots of ways to keep money off the bottom line while still enjoying the benefits.

And don't forget free tickets and iced tea at each game.
