roughly 68% vote for ahmadinejad, after masavi was leading in the polls

tehran is essentially under martial law

largest victory since the iranian revolution

even more embarrassing for democracy than america buying the recent Lebanese election

The youth should take the lead from the current leadership and revolt, as they did, 30 years ago.

If he wins, how can it not have been rigged, considering the overwhelming demographic of Iran?

Its not as simple as it seems. They had a couple of Iranian journalist on NPR yesterday, and apparently Ahmadinejad has a lot of support among the poor and rural areas in Iran. Its not a guarantee that its fixed, although the possibility exist.

And if there is a Civil War, it will not last long. The religous leaders will see to that.

I dunno if we'd pass up the opportunity, and I doubt Israel would. Either way, we have too many troops on the borders to not get involved.

Yeah, if theres one thing we are good at, it's taking an unbalanced Middle Eastern country and trying to rule it while everybody in it is trying to blow each other up!
