Question Mr. Scot, once teams are under on the 12th can they go over as much as they want assuming they will be back under by the next deadline? I think its before the first game.

Once the season starts, you have to count everybody again.

Go to http://nflcommunicat...om/current-cba/ and read the cba for yourself. Really easy read believe it or not.

You never have to count more than the top 51 ever. Also, you can not go over at all, as every contract has to be approved by the leauge office.

I'll check it. Thanks. My understanding had been that was only an offseason provision.
I wish we would still re-work some contracts (Beason/DWill) to get even lower under the cap...
Yasinskas thinks there will be more of that this weekend (for what it's worth).

I hope we don't just push the money to another season... I would like to see something like what they did with Nakamura's contract with Beason, Dwill, and maybe even try with Gross (Not as extreme as the Nakamura "restructure" though)Yasinskas thinks there will be more of that this weekend (for what it's worth).

What, no midnight vigil thread?
Thought of it, but "the team is in contact with free agent X" doesnt really scream 'breaking news' to me. Especially not seeing that we can't sign anyone till 4pm Tuesday.
That said, I'll probably still watch the wires for news (just for the heck of it).

Notsomuch that, but I wonder if there will be early agreements, or will there be more bidding wars in the 3 day window until Tuesday's Happy Hour vigil.

No precedents available by which to set expectations.
Who knows what'll happen?
(I guess we will, in about 6 or 7 minutes)
