The period where teams are allowed to negotiate contracts with free agent players, but not sign them...

...starts at midnight tonight.

Not to mention anyone that has been already cut, but considering teams have to be under the cap on March 12 there wont be any signings.

Question Mr. Scot, once teams are under on the 12th can they go over as much as they want assuming they will be back under by the next deadline? I think its before the first game.

Not really allowed to go over (as I understand it) but for the offseason the league only counts the top 51 rostered players against the cap.

Once the season starts, you have to count everybody again.

I wish we would still re-work some contracts (Beason/DWill) to get even lower under the cap...

You never have to count more than the top 51 ever. Also, you can not go over at all, as every contract has to be approved by the leauge office.

I hope we don't just push the money to another season... I would like to see something like what they did with Nakamura's contract with Beason, Dwill, and maybe even try with Gross (Not as extreme as the Nakamura "restructure" though)

Thought of it, but "the team is in contact with free agent X" doesnt really scream 'breaking news' to me. Especially not seeing that we can't sign anyone till 4pm Tuesday.

That said, I'll probably still watch the wires for news (just for the heck of it).

Chiefs have apparently agreed to terms with Dunta Robinson.
