So he's off the board now. I'd really like to get a quality vet DT through FA. Canty is still availabe???

DT Cullen Jenkins formally with the Philidelphia Eagles. He's former Panthers Kris Jenkins brother.

Bwood is just being a dick.

I doubt he was ever a real candidate to land here anyway.

I mentioned this in another thread but I believe that the FO is focused on re-signing Dwan Edwards as our vet DT and the Jenkins deal (3 yrs., $8 mil w/ $3 mil guaranteed) just set the market for what it will cost to re-sign him or possibly pick up Canty i.e. vet DTs 30 yo+ with similar production.

I've seen a couple of separate articles now where DT Sen'Derrick Marks from the Titans has become a bit of a hot commodity. And I don't quite understand it.

Don't get me wrong, I like the kid a lot since he's an Auburn guy, its just that he's done nothing special since he entered the league. The highest grade I could give him would be solid, middle-of-the-pack player.

Is decent DT play now so valued that if you're an average player the doesn't get dominated on a regular basis, you're a "hot" commodity?

I'd like to have Dwan back, he played his but off for us.

Yeah me too. He was a real nice addition to our D-line last year.

He was never a real option IMO.

Dwan is my top choice, then Dorsey.

With our LB's & DE's, I'd love for us to have a dominate D-line b/c I'm not cofident with our CB's & S's. I'm sure we'll address a few of these positions in the draft, but when will they be ready to contribute.

Was coming to post the same thing. The news is not significant in the sense that we missed out on him, rather that it sets the market as you said. Dwan should not expect that much.
