Vikings Have Traded Percy Harvin to The Seahawks

Funny. For the first time in 4 years I am optimistic about the team.

8-8 here we come!

i guess if the goal is breaking even....

lol.

it's more the coaching staff that i can't get excited about. i think that a good young group of talented guys is here and aside from another playmaker or two on offense (mainly for the post-smitty era) and some upgrades in the secondary, i feel good about the team. oh yeah...and the OL.

that coaching staff, tho...i just haven't seen what i want to see. i do have faith in gettleman to get this team what they need on the roster, tho. game management will be the only issue.

I feel ya.

Ive chosen to lead a charge of blind faith homerism. We got Cam, Luke and Gman, this aint the old Panthers.

hey...have at it. i've done that enough the past few years.

Aww man we missed out on harvin again

He was shorter than 6 foot, less than 200lbs and ran a sub 4.5 40, so this automatically means he would've been the next Steve Smith for us

IMO, if Gettlemen would have given up a first rounder for Harvin. This place would go nutsoid. But we are still a crappy team just because we didn't.

Gotta love this place.

I think if we upgrade the secondary we are a playoff team even with the other holes. And no more bad coaching decisions. Were were just a couple plays away from 10-6 last year.

Assuming our new OC meshes I think we can get there next year. New Orleans is the wild card in the NFC south but I think ATL is in transition and the bucs are not a threat.

We will see.

Yeah i think Seahawks feel they have almost all the pieces and just need one or two holes filled to make a deeper playoff run.

We will see how that works out.

A first round pick is a lot for any WR

not if they can produce...and they aren't just getting a WR. they are getting an explosive football player who can make people miss that can help out their passing game, run game, and return game.

as long as rivera is coach the bucs are a threat. remember they are the only NFCS team that swept us last year.

Yeah I'm trying to google other WR trades. I know Randy Moss had a down year before he was traded to NE but they only gave up a 4th round pick.

Seattle and San Fran are having an arms race at this point...this move makes a lot of sense if the Niners end up trading for Revis to give the Hawks another threat.

And Boldin is a 49er now....wow

that's the thing that is funny to me.

people are hesitant to give up anything earlier than a 4th for stud players in trades, even though they are proven and experienced as opposed to the unproven and inexperienced players you gamble on in the draft.

you can always get good value (overlooking/working around the cap hit) in trades for draft picks.

were it up to me, i'd trade any pick beyond the 3rd and maybe even the third for players that came with experience and proven skills.

they probably cold have gotten him for less, but even at that, they are getting a more proven and more of a sure thing than what they would get for their late first rounder.
