With the recent Gamble and Anderson cuts, it appears our cap total is now only 122.9 for 2014.

Also Gross' 10 mil cap hit won't be at that number, it'll be reduced or he will be cut. Also, the only big name player I believe we have to resign is Hardy.

Things are looking up....

Gettleman said he was looking at the longterm health of the franchise. Something Hurney didn't do.

People were making a mountain of a molehill. We were over the cap, but we have easy cuts/restructurings to make at that point (Goddfrey, Gross, Beason, etc).

You mean if he doesn't win he gets fired? Fair enough, but that's probably true for 20 head coaches every year.

this.

everything that hurney did was focused on yesterday and today at the expense tomorrow. he had us at or near the cap every year and had nothing to show for it and no room to improve because he was so busy rewarding people for just being here.

he spent a lot of money but was piss-poor at managing it well going forward.

Adam Schefter said it best this morning on Mike and Mike. "You don't pay a player for what he's done, you pay him for what he can do." Hurney and JR did the opposite of that.

It was like he knew his job was on the line the last couple years to where he went in panic mode.
