Please no more Zaxby's talk. My mom was just murdered. No need to make it worse.

Some people drown their sorrows. I prefer to deep fry it and dip it in thousand island dressing.

That's definitely more than $3.

Ron Paul would be ashamed at your fiscal irresponsibility.

So are you saying they are such a small percentage, it would have not hurt at all to let them file bankruptcy and not have wasted money via bailouts and such? When the government wants to bail them out, they acted like there was no tomorrow. Now, that the government is invested, they act like it's just a small thing.

You cannot pay attention to the words used by this administration.

I'm saying the Right's calls of Socialism! are exaggerated talking points. If your only choice is to take money from the government because you ran your business unsuccessfully, you shouldn't be surprised when the government starts telling you how to run it.

I personally wouldn't have bailed out the automakers. Not sure there was a choice but to bail out some of the financial institutions.

In total agreement there. Is it not possible that Barry is a socialist, though?

Not if you truly understand what the tenets of Socialism are.

He said himself he wants to spread the wealth. He wants to give tax breaks to people who don't even earn money. Call it whatever you want....it sucks.

By definition it was Anarchy/Rebellion.

That was the spark, but the flame was intended to be a nation with the smallest possible government.

Not necessarily true. There were those who advocated a strong central government, more similar to Englands but with the necessary "democratic" changes.

In the end, the Federalists got their way for the most part, with a strong central bank, the ability to create a Federal standing Army and Navy, revenue cutters and exise taxes..The idea of a weak Federal government is based mostly on the simple fact that a lot of the nation until the late 1800s was sparsely populated frontier and empty land that was simply ungovernable.

As an agrarian, minimally populated nation, the idea of small goverment makes more sense. In the modern post industrial era, the concentration of people, economies and communication make a strong government a necessity to keep things both running, and running for the peoples benefit as much as possible.

If we want to be a nice, quiet country with no military or economic aspirations, then by all means let's get less complex.

If we want to lead the free world, that's just not an option.

I don't really understand what so many people are complaining about.

90% of the complaints I read are ignorant, and haven't the slightest idea of what socialism is.
