Sweet.

He's going to be the next Steve Smith because he runs a 4.3 40 and is short and weighs less than 200

I see we'd be working out receivers. What a wonderful thing to know. Cross WR off your FA list.

I don't expect this to be the last WR we work out/meet with... BTW Patterson has meet with the Lions (I could see us setting up a meeting with him soon)

As for the "cross the WR off your FA list".. Just because we work someone out of meet with them doesn't mean we're automatically drafting them

I know, many more workouts still coming up.

I can't see us bringing in a WR through FA. If any, it'll be another Naanee kind of guy.

He's basically Mike Wallace 2.0.

I don't see us taking him 14th overall but it doesn't hurt to look.

That may be the worst comparison since Luke Kuechly to Dan Connor.

I'd say Tavon Austin is a hybrid of Sproles, Harvin, and Welker.

Ehhh, considering Austin has Wallace's shortcomings, I stand by my comparison. Percy is the better and more polished receiver, but I do see the similarities in their game.

Not sure I understand these Mike Wallace comparisons. Austin, from what I have seen and read, isn't viewed as a deep threat. At least at this point in his career he hasn't developed that part of his game but I think he could eventually stretch the field vertically.

Currently, Austin is a matchup nightmare for anyone in the slot and can be lethal running out of the backfield or with sweeps, screens, crossing routes, and what not. He is great at returning kicks and punts and is just a playmaker that can be used in a variety of ways and is the definition of versatile.

As I have said in the draft forum, my only worry is his durability and I wonder if Shula could really use Tavon to the best of his ability to get the most out of him in our offense.
