I probably would have offered him a one or two year deal as well. Can't give a guy at his age a big long term contract.

last year his one yr deal was 4 million right? I would imagine they where forced to ask to make much less....

Last year he signed for 1.5 mil.
He had six sacks and was pretty instrumental. He probably wants more.

he won't get a better offer anywhere else.
the market is low and flat. he'll take the deal. if not...he's replaceable. the DL will be fine.
