I may not be the smartest guy in the world but I think I have the most logical solution here,

During only the football season, raise hotel and food taxes at rates high enough to where us fans can pick up this bill! We want it the. Lets keep it! No need to punish the non football fans year round, even though they benefit greatly from an NFL team in their backyard

This would be a nightmare for local businesses and hotels. Simply unworkable.

Why? The administrative inconvenience beats the possibility of losing the Panthers! I come from Va at least twice each season and end up spending no less than 1200 each trip, so assuming there is quite a few more like me then businesses want to keep that going

I hope you're including ticket cost into that...even then...that's too much

Interesting idea but a 1% tax on food an beverage is much simpler...

....and in the end will probably be the outcome.

I for one am not about to fork over an extra $.04 for my pint of Guinness just so fat cat JR can save himself a few hundred million.

Is someone forcing you to buy Guinness within the city limits?

How about this, I'll reimburse you the $.04 for each pint if it means that much to you? LOL

...and it's not to save JR money, it's to make sure the next owner can't move the Panthers away from CLT for at least the next 15 years.

Without this investment, we won't get that security... so is it worth $.04 per pint to make sure you have a team for the next 15 years?
