If two restructures netted them 10 mil while the panthers sit idle with similar contracts on the books and their thumb planted firmly in their buttocks then the FO is just as incompetent as I feared

Uhh... It netted them roughly $10 mil!

they lost their big LT and maybe their center. they have very limited cap space, even with the paycuts....and then they are going to go out and blow their load on a CB?

makes sense.

I'm going to love it when every team in our division is in complete cap hell for a few years and we are the only team sitting pretty cap wise

That should be in 2016. We have $127 committed to the 2014 cap and we have $117 million committed to the 2015 cap (and that $117 mil is only for 19 players). Good thing is in '15 most of our big cap hits can be cut or restructured without a huge penalty. an inferior site just posted a nice write up in response to Gantt's piece on the Panthers salary cap woes.

Not sure, but an inferior site just posted a piece that points out by cutting or restructuring CJ, Dwill, Beason, TD, and Godfrey in 2015 we can save 50% of that cap space in 2015/2016.

The Saints also signed (TE) Ben Watson today.... Graham and Watson is a damn good combination :/
