No get half of your yearly salary paid in January.
Then you make the other half normally.

$800 x 12 + $20,000 = $29,600 < $40,000

Biggest misrepresentation - the NFL enjoys a "hard" cap. Why then, do we often talk about cash over the cap? #doyourhomework?

Creating a thread then deleting the original post should be an automatic time-out.

Remember when the sports intelligentsia breathlessly reported on how Tom Brady "gave back" all that cash to the Pats?

I don't know why the casual football fan would get the idea that every spring football players take pay cuts for the team..

Restructure is actually more beneficial to players because they agreed to get their money upfront.

Let's say u earn $40,000 salary. Like $1,600 biweekly. Your employer asks u if u can take a bonus of $20,000 so he can pay you only $800 a month.

That can be good or bad, depending on the money-management skills of the individual.

Of course rright now it looks like we are a talent depleted team who has no money to sign players to get better but I'm sure many of u remember the 2011 offseason when we had no qb no direction no plan for being successful in the future and then we drafted cam. Hopefully cam turns into the player brady is and makes his supporting cast look better than what they actually are. Somehow some way rivera is very good at gerting the most of no name players on defense he has for years. I'm just saying gettleman has a plan we have cam newton so try not to panic and start calling the suicide hotline just yet
