Fasting

I went to the emergency dept already. They gave me fluids, ran tests for gallbladder disease and didn't find anything. They sent me home with instructions to see my Dr. My Dr wouldn't see me until April 17th, needless to say I can't wait that long. I was able to get an appointment with a gastroenterologist. I'm here at the moment.

I'd get a new PCP if that's the turnaround time for an appt.

No Fisting parody yet?

I think I started a fasting thread in the past, and the subsequent fisting parody thread sprung up... it might have been me that started that one too... lol...

BUT LIAG dang!

I've done the fasting thing before... mostly to cleanse of toxins and such... When I did it it was all water and sometimes juices. Nothing solid. But those only lasted like 3 or 4 days.

Feel better soon!

Never fasted, but I will occasionally go an entire day eating maybe 200-300 calories and drinking lots of water. Makes me feel really refreshed the next day for some reason

I have odd eating habits though

I'm scheduled for an upper endoscopy tomorrow afternoon. I'm not even disappointed about it. I'm happy the Dr was very concerned and wanted to do something right away.

That endoscopy should be totally easy... I had to have a couple last year... The first one was because I had gotten some food lodged in my esophagus and they had to go in and pull it out... The second was to potentially stretch my esophagus a couple weeks later, which they didn't end up having to do.

The second time they gave me Propofol to knock me out... That stuff is amazing...

Good luck, and feel better!

I did a fast over 2-3 days just to see how it worked, how I felt and if I ended up losing weight.

Basically i felt like crap pretty quickly and then ate like 3 massive cheeseburgers when it was over.

If I need to lose weight I do some calorie restriction but no fasting.

Yeah I wouldn't fast for weight loss... it would be for health or religious reasons.

14 days was the longest I went. Juice and water only.

Fasting should be done by more. At least once a month.

There is a new movement for its overall benefits and the release of free radicals and fighting cancer. Mens Health did an article a few months ago.

See your doc liag and also write down what you eat and how often and the reactions. I'm convinced you can eat your way to better health. Not to mention we might have a food allergy and not know it and while the food itself is good our body goes umm no.

Good luck

I just ate some noodle soup!!! Feels so good to have something other than water in my stomach.

The endoscopy went well. Doc says I have erosion in my stomach and took biopsies. He gave me some meds. The strange thing is I woke up with a bloody fat lip and I have no idea how it got there.
