What happened in the last 24 hours that would change someones opinion of our GM? Mitchell, Moore, rumor of Ginn? 3 absolute scrubs...hooray? this offseason is an ongoing disaster. to be fair he didn't have any flexibility anyway.

I didn't slam him earlier, and I won't praise him now. Lets wait and see what happens on Fall Sundays over the next few years.

this place is full of knee-jerkers, one way or the other.... this thread is another example. after 48 hours of open fa people killing Gettlemen now after one signing and one visit "it's all good"

Not to mention Getts did exactly what he said he was going to do all along. I think people have trouble understanding they are living day-to-day while these things are ongoing at the same time.

I mean don't get me wrong, I like Gettleman and the moves that have been made. But they're fillers... I mean DJ Moore, Mitchell, both add depth to the secondary which is key but neither are game changers. Ginn is a game changer for ST, which is my favorite move so far.

If he could have snagged Pollard (Titans just signed him 1 yr deal) than we'd be talking.

But let's face it, he's been hand-cuffed by Hurney's leftover mess and has been managing the small amount of money, we do have, judiciously .

I'm not expecting anything crazy, but I like where he could be taking us...

I hope everyone just learns to be patient. Seriously, how can you possibly judge how good a GM is in such a short time?

Well, in fairness, this is The Huddle. Logic and reason don't exist here.

Remember that time when Gettleman did a better job than Hurney ever did without even trying?

Oh wait, that just happened 3 seconds ago.

I think that a lot of you really aren't taking into consideration what Gettleman has to work with. :/

Gettleman has brought in quality vets to push for time in positions of need. With a salary cap in place, it's impossible to have a team filled with household (recognizable) names in the NFL.

The teams that splurge in free agency will pay for it later. Gettleman is preparing for Cam's contract, which will be one of the largest in the NFL when his time comes. Hardy will get paid top dollar. Luke will also demand a huge contract. Have to keep it all in perspective. Teams usually only have 1 or 2 players at each level (DB-LB-DL-OL-WR-OL-TE-RB) you can identify. The rest are role players.

Not sure at this point if Cams contract will be that big. I mean if you base it on the huggers here, yes, but if performances are what the contract is based on, he has a ways to go for the monster payday.

Maybe this year, he will continue to grow and the game will continue to slow down for him. What would help him a great deal would be for the Oline to solidify.

Gettleman has made chicken salad so far, if you know what I mean.

Cam's contract will be dictated by demand, not by stats. How many teams would want to pay Cam a ridiculous amount of money right now, today? If Carolina does not offer a $100 million, he's likely gone.
