Winston Salem headquartered companies that get bought or go national seem to eventually suffer for it. Wachovia gets bought by First Union, and now they exist no more. Piedmont Airlines gets bought by Useless Air and have struggled ever since. Hanes got bought by Sara Lee, and strugged until Sara Lee sold it and it went back to Winston.

As long as Krispy Kreme was a local company, they were doing great. When they tried to expand, they failed. I wish CEO's would reign in their ego's and realize that sometimes, companies are big enough and don't need to expand.

Are you saying there was a hole in his expansion strategy?
