My brother jumped 6'10" yesterday which is best in the state by a full 3 inches (second place is some kid from New Hanover at 6'7") and tied for fourth nationally.

He's a senior at West Wilkes High School and he's getting track scholarship offers from some major schools, like Miami for example.

Anyhow, I'm proud of him and felt like sharing.

He ended up with his arms in the basket, hanging by his elbows, to finish this dunk.

It was downright comical watching him dunk on incredibly unathletic (by comparison) redneck farmboys from the 1A Midwest North Carolina High School Division.

He cleared the bar by a good couple inches. It was the first official meet of the year. He'll have at least a 7footer by the end of the year.

Careful, Larry Bird never did much dunking. Sometimes those farm boys can just shoot the lights out of the joint.

Not saying they can't. But that wasn't the argument.

Impressive.

In high jumping can you touch the bar if you don't knock it off of do you have to clear it entirely for the jump to count?
