Does the show follow the books closely or just the main idea like the walking dead?

IMO the show has followed the books very closely. There is always going to be some differences when you put a story onto tv/movie but GoT is one the best I've seen at keeping it close.

I have been watching Vikings. It has been worth watching. From what I have read though it is not even close to historically correct. Normally that would not matter but you would think the history channel would try to get it right.

I like the show but it is really jumpy, it just skips large chunks of time for no real reason. I don't regret watching it but it is in my lower tier of shows I watch.

I still dig it. The last episode was pretty crazy and not much happened minus some alliances type stuff. There is better TV, but there is a LOT worse also. I like the lead character though. Crazy that Floki is Eric from True Blood's brother, and also one of the main guys on Hemlock Grove is their brother too.

Wow didnt know that about Floki, he is by far my favorite character. I am not sure why they skip periods of time the way they do but it does annoy me. I wish they would at least tell you how long it has been

The season finale was probably the best episode this season, they didn't jump huge time gaps for once and the show was better for it. Do not know if I'll tune in next year but the season finale increased the chance I will.

I really enjoyed the season, hope they do next season without the time gaps. Disappointing it wont be until next yr 2014.

I really enjoyed this new series. I think the acting is fairly poor. Ragnar I believe is the best actor. Loki looks like he is tripping on acid every day. The fight scenes are great, they remind me of Braveheart but on a tighter budget. I I have started to look forward to Vikings over GoT since there is more action on a show to show basis. I wonder what Ragnar's reaction to the Plague is going to be? I thought Rolo (Brother) would attempt to assassinate Ragnar and not join a rival clan. That was a curveball.

I like this show too, but.... Vikings OVER GoT?  Not even in the same league IMO.

That being said, I was satisfied with this season.  I wish it was longer, and hopefully next season it will be, and have more of a budget.   I know this show probably has no accurate facts but, it's still fun.

Has anyone still been watching? I like how they are doing the story.
