Need help with my laptop (Satellite A505)

Ok, I believe my cooling fan is gone. I turn the laptop on and it cuts off in 5 mins or so. Before it does this a message displays explaining there is something wrong with the cooling department. I figure its the fan simply because I don't hear it working.

Any of you had this problem before and would any fan work? I have not attempted to open her up yet. No time. I blew some compressed air at it, dust came out but the problem remains.

Help a brother out huddle! Winter is coming and my laptop is the only way to see GOT. (and porn)

Any fan wont work, this stuff is mostly proprietary. http://www.ebay.com/...=item1e77c10941 That's what you need, assuming it's the fan. Prolly find a service manual for it on Toshiba's website. G/L

Super easy to take apart a laptop. You just have to know what you're doing. If you're a rookie, I'd recommend a YouTube video or two.

I'd do it for u if I still lived there

Yeah my laptop has done that exact same thing a couple. A good cooling pad with strong fans helps a lot. They aren't that expensive either

Fans are usually cheap and easy to replace, like TCF said just watch some youtube vids before you take everything apart (thats easy, putting it all back together is the hard part)
