Man Strength 62 Report post Posted March 26, 2013 http://sports.espn.go.com/espnradio/podcast/archive?id=3881101 (3/26 edition, about 14-15 min into it) per Mel Kiper who also said they were good friends. An extreme elite LT is the only possible exception, but even then he's not that into it. The theory is they can be developed from later round picks. the question then is, does gettleman believe this as well? if so, that changes our pool of options in the draft for sure, and definitely rules out picking an OG in the first and likely the second. ARSEN 10,185 Report post Posted March 26, 2013 Under Gettleman, Giants have never drafted offensive lineman in first round. They either drafted DEs, DBs, WR, and or RB. They also drafted for position of need.
Growl 8,169 Report post Posted March 26, 2013 There just isn't much evidence we to suggest we go lineman with this first pick. There is a lot of evidence to suggest we go WR. That's where a lot of people are coming from.

panther4life 2,621 Report post Posted March 26, 2013 Nor does their Current GM for that Matter. he has never spent higher than a 60th pick(Will Beatty) on 1 since coming aboard in 97. Its must be a Giant tradition or something because they have only one spent 1st round pick on an offensive lineman in the last 23 drafts. Thats was Luke Pettigout in 1999. Sounds a little extreme to me but it is a fact. http://www.pro-footb...s/nyg/draft.htm

IamSoClutch 774 Report post Posted March 26, 2013 and for all the people who really want Johnston to fall to us at 14 he wouldnt even be ranked to go that high if the other two lineman that went back to school had declared.
