The nfl wanted fox to come back to charlotte and rivera to go back to san diego. That was the reason for the switch I think. That was an exception, not the norm.

That would make the most sense as to their thought process, even though it is a crap excuse, I would not be surprised if that was why.

I'm wondering if it actually did have something to do with the coaches going back to their former teams.

Fox coming back to Charlotte two years removed is a much better story than six years later. Who would care after six years?

But...if they were doing it for a story then why wouldn't it be a prime time game?

Great timing with the thread, me and 3 of my friends had committed to see this as our one away game next season. Q. Do you think many of the RR crowd will be lower level snobs like me/us? ....Please take that in light hearted jest as intended ;)

I think about 25% will be (me included). I released the details last Friday and had 14 sign up and pay already (most wait for the schedule to come out) and 6 of those 14 want lower level. So yes, there will be a solid number for lowers.

Good question. I actually e-mailed the NFL about this when the schedules came out because I had been looking forward to seeing the Panthers in Denver. Two e-mails sent, zero replies. The coaches thing makes more sense than anything I have heard thus far, but agree on the prime time question. Honestly though, why would people outside of those teams care about Fox/Rivera returns. It is not like Tony Dungy returning to Tampa.

Ahhhh, ok. SHH uses the identical code for pics and gifs too.

Thanks.

Beginning in 2010, a change was made to how teams are paired in the schedule rotation to ensure that teams playing the AFC and NFC West divisions would not be required to make two west coast trips (e.g. at San Francisco and at Seattle), while other teams in their division had none (e.g. at St. Louis and at Arizona).

This is all I got lol. http://profootballta...every-nfl-team/

I am thinking it was a Tampa thing and not a Carolina thing. Tampa would have played @SD and @OAK, but instead they played @DEN and @OAK, so I got screwed.

Thanks for the info though, I should be good in '16 assuming I am still here!
