2005 playoffs in New York... against the G-men.

Smitty touchdown to pretty much ice it, and he does the Super Mario slide downt he goal post. That's when I knew we had that game. It was so Smitty.

that slide down the goalpost was against Chicago the next week.

I think I remember him knocking someone for a loop on a stiff arm in the Super Bowl

2005 playoff game against the Bears

This is mine too. I loved that game and Smitty's performance in that game was the stuff of legend. he so totally dominated that vaunted Bears D. His whole 2005 season was MVP worthy. Smitty was the best receiver in the NFL that season and that Bears game proved it.

My feeling is still we should have made the Superbowl that season. We may have actually been the best team in the league that season. 2005 Delhomme/Smitty/Moose and we had a decent Def was the best Panthers team ever. It was Smitty's best chance at winning a ring.

If he had won a ring that season, I'd say he had a Hall of Fame moment in that Bears game. Unfortunately, I think he's gonna come up just short of a championship if he stays in Carolina.

Will this 2013 team get there? Not likely. How much time does he have left?

Oh man there are so many great Smitty moments. I love all the big ones. But the one that was really special to me was the playoff game at home vs Cowboys in 04. I was at that game with my dad and the Smith touchdown in the corner of the endzone was awesome.

I also enjoyed his entire 2011 campaign as he showed that he was still one of the best WR in the game.

But the most impressive play I've seen from Smith was a few years ago away against the rams. He made a sideline grab that was jaw dropping. It was like his feet were just gliding across the field. I'm not even sure he had a 100yds that day and it wasn't even an important game. But the way Smith executed that play made me know I was watching a legend.

Davis was unstoppable in the redzone when he was healthy. Foster went straight beast mode in the playoffs. Then the Bears broke his ankle.

IIRC, We had outscored our opponents about 44-0 that year in the playoffs with Foster. When the Bears crippled him, we were outscored 20-54 the rest of the playoffs.

A silent film for a change of pace:

To me this epitomizes Smiths will to win and the chip on his shoulder as a player. With 5-6 Texans tackling him, he still gets away with his "do not quite" attitude.
