Solid draft. Not flashy, but solid nonetheless.

Don't like it at all. This years draft will be failure for Panthers if we don't draft a DT in either of 1st 2 rounds.

I think we draft either Kawaan Short or John Jenkins in the 2nd round.

And we will go WR in the 1st.

Take that to the bank.

It depends on bpa at either position. I wouldn't cancel a secondary player out either.

Only DT we would take at 14 is Star and he wont be there.

So we will pick Allen imo

Then Short or Jenkins in the 2nd.

Its possible we could take a CB (someone like Taylor) but im pretty sure we will sure up the lines esp if we go WR in the 1st.

Short is to good of a player to pass up at UT when you only have a vet stop gap starting.

I just think there are too many with a funneled perspective.

All these definitive statements about something that is the furthest thing from definitive.

There are a ton of possibilities with our 1st rounder and what people determine a reach or whatever from a accumulative media rankings perspective is not the same as with what the respective teams are thinking.

Almost there folks. I'm considering who we're bringing in so far for workouts and our FA moves.

Round 1: Jonathan Cyprien SS Florida International

I'm not joking. I think this is the guy. A tenacious leader, agressive but has balance, is a true SS and Godfrey as we've been told is our FS. I don't think he's a reach and for some reason, I think our staff is ok with the d-line minus finding a big NT either in the FA or later on in the draft. We knew they were looking at Barron hard last year. This would be smart and by no means a reach. (25 of 32 teams were present at his pro-day and scouts are apparently really pumped about this kid)

Round 2: Quinton Patton WR Louisiana Tech

Beyond his great numbers, he is smooth, well rounded, surest hands in the draft, and a leader (I'm considering intangibles) There are 4 wideouts that I have in mind in 1-2: Nuke, Patton, Wheaton, & Bailey. Patton would be my preference over Bailey and Wheaton and I think Hunter will be gone by 44.

Round 4: Brian Winters RG Kent State

A great guard I hope we can land. This is the most stacked position in the draft and its not known for being drafted high. He would be a great addition if we don't get someone through the FA.

Round 5: Kwame Geathers NT Georgia

Land a nose tackle to fill out the line alongside Dwan and will hopefully find a decent FA addition.

Round 6: Sanders Commings CB Georgia

We've seen him twice so far and is a 6'0 CB. We made some good additions but need some height and athleticism in our secondary.

yes I would be insanely happy with this mock draft. I agree with Cyprien I really think he might be our pick at 14 unless a huge name falls

I also would be very happy with we could get Commings in the 6th

If Star or Lane are sitting there, I'd go for them without a doubt but beyond that, Cyprien is my favorite for us at the moment running slightly ahead of the top WRs. I think Austin is gone and I don't really want Patterson. Deciding between the likes of Nuke, Hunter, and Allen is pretty tough and imo if Cyprien was out of a top school would be a given top-20 pick.

I guess we will have to wait and see who was right.

1st - WR (Allen, Patterson, Austin, assuming no trade back)
2nd - DT (J.Williams, S. Williams, Short, Jenkins with CB a darkhorse possibility Taylor, Slay)

agree completely. TBH I don't know if I would even take Austin if he is there at 14.

I'm just trying to say there are countless possibilities. You're issuing a definitive statement on specific players we will draft.

Not when you look at who is gonna be available and our needs. There is a very small pool of possible players to choose from at 14.

Which is why I can almost guarantee one of these 2 being drafted at 14 (considering star, johnson, millner, austin, and patterson are gone)

Allen
Richardson

I could be wrong but, but id bet the farm on things playing out like this.

What I'm saying is that you can't look at who's going to be available because there are 13 picks before us and it's the NFL draft.

For me, I've got Lane Johnson, Star, Cyprien, and Cooper/Warmack in heavy consideration with Austin/Patterson/Allen/Hopkins/Hunter as possibilities.

Plus, you've got people saying Richardson, Vaccaro, Rhodes, Trufant, even Jarvis Jones in some cases on the board. That's not a small crop and its even more of a crapshoot than last year.

funnel effect sir
