Eastern Kentucky wide receiver Tyrone Goard is scheduled to visit the Seattle Seahawks, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation.

He has private workouts with the Indianapolis Colts and Carolina Panthers.

The 6-foot-4, 205-pounder ran the 40-yard dash in 4.46 seconds at the NFL scouting combine, bench pressing 225 pounds 10 times and registering a 36-inch vertical leap with a 4.39 20-yard shuttle and a 6.90 three-cone drill.

Goard finished his career with 100 catches, 1,842 receiving yards and 24 touchdown catches.

He had four 100-yard receiving games as a senior, catching 41 passes for 900 yards and eight touchdowns.

That included seven catches for 175 yards and four touchdowns against Tennessee-Martin.

Would be interesting if we did land him in the draft/UDFA and somehow he and Lamont Bryant turn into polished receivers. We would have two WR's over 6'3 running 4.3-4.4

wouldn't mind him late or as a udfa.

i would hope he isn't the only WR we pick up in the draft this year, tho.

Seems like we've been connected to just about every mid-late round WR prospect out there.

Scouting report is not actually glowing.Link

BOTTOM LINE

Goard’s lean frame, average overall speed, and occasional concentration issues might give NFL scouts some pause, but his potential as an upside project could have a team select him late.

Don't know much about Goard, but I've heard some good things about Mellette. Should be an interesting player who can develop into someone productive.
