Excellent pickup. I'm glad the Saints didn't sign him.

Nnamdi was burnt regularly throughout last year and is 32 years old. I think we get caught up on names with this board more than anything. Randy Moss signed with them last year and everyone thought that was great, but Randy didn't do much but stretch the defense a little bit on the occasional down and remain unreliable through the playoffs.

Also, Aso didn't want guaranteed money because he's still making a good chunk for free from the Eagles. Hence this one year deal; he wants to shoot for a ring, and he doesn't require a lot of money (that he wouldn't have gotten for his services anyway).

Who's gonna play safety?
Whitner is terrible. And they need a replacement for Dashon. Nnamdi is probably their third best cb on the team based on his two previous seasons.

Suck it

@AdamSchefter CB Nnamdi Asomugha is signing a 1-yr deal with 49ers worth $1.35 million in base salary, but get this: He didn't want ANY guaranteed money.

Ha amazing with so little cap room how they're doing nothing but bringing in studs. Someone explain it. They want to win. They will win.

Nnamdi peaked in 2008. And don't forget how bad the entire AFC West was while he was in Oakland. Every game was like the fourth quarter of preseason - a guy with average talent looked like a superstar vs. the competition. (hello, Jay Cutler)

He may also want to rebuild his rep.

He used to be feared asa shutdown corner in Oakland, but his time in a bad Philly system has taken him down a few notches.
