to add to my comment.

For sick people this isn't really a bad thing.

For people too fuging sorry to get a job, it is a very bad thing.

Out of the roughly $1,600 they make each month after taxes, they pay $159 for a landline telephone, high-speed Internet and cable television.

 Thats some good $ management right there. *facepalm*

this is no shock.

lets give poor people phones and let criminals off the hook because we don't have enough court rooms to give them a trial.

I am just happy that this will make it easier to buy crack since the payphone has been getting harder and harder to find....

I agree with Kurb though...if you are sick and alone and need to get to and from the doctors this is a good thing but something tells me that will only make up 5%-10% of the actual people that will be getting these phones.

I told my son jus the other day that this country is made up of two groups of people and he can chose which to be part of cause I am not sure which is better anymore. The 50% who live off the government and the 50% who pay for those people to do that.

My wife then told me I was no longer to give him life lessons. I say she can't handle the truth.

Exactly. If abuse of all govt programs could be cut back about 95% I don't think anyone would have a single problem helping those who are actually IN NEED...and no that is not people who want high speed internet and free phones too.

I gotta wonder, if that guy is TRULY HOMELESS where does the bill for his phone get sent (bad enough he has a phone that costs about 4X our monthly cell bill)? Yeah, he's homeless.

It doesn't say anything about that guy being homeless, unless you believe the caption that was intended to be a joke.

He could have walked in from the street to take a picture of the first lady. He could work at the soup kitchen.

How do we know he's not a volunteer at the kitchen just taking a pic?

Oh yeah, he's black. Sorry.

I have 0 problem helping people in need. I think most americans are that way. the thing is the gov't gets in the way, takes our money and does a shitty job distributing it out to those in need.
