The number isn't retired, but hasn't been used in 20 years.

Singletary himself is said to be fine with it.

Issue or non-issue in your mind?

I certainly don't care.

After 20 years, I guess it wasn't meant to be. That's the real issue...if there is one.

Naw, good for James. Hope he plays well except the obvious.

The Bears have had to have multiple players with the same number in camp because they're running out of non-retired jerseys. Unless they start allowing letters and shapes instead of numbers there's not much to do about it.

I know you can't retire too many numbers, but I admit I'm kinda surprised Singletary's number isn't one of the retired.

Since I can honestly say I don't give a fug about the bears, it is a non issue to me.

Well, wasn't there a thread where everyone said Smith's number should be retired?

Even though it wasn't officially retired...no man should wear that number in Chicago. Definately not some FA pickup.

Don't have an issue cuz I don't care about the Bears or Mike SIngletary that much. Happy for JA, if it's a big deal to him. He's a good dude.

not a big deal if it's not made to be one, but if I were Anderson I wouldn't want those expectations.

    • Ive never considered him a solid starter   when he was doing well, it was due to a phenom defense, fantastic Oline and running game, and a fantastic Head coach. Whrn he was getting all that hype it ate me alive because i could understand his success was due to much more than him actually being good.    Below average passer with running ability made a nice wrinkle in an offense and team as a whole that was primed for someone to just be decent to win games.    Reminds me a lot like Prescott with a phenom oline and run gsme where he can live off playaction. Cant wait fir that nuclear bomb to be dropped when he has a slump
    • Do they do special teams stuff or is it mostly 7 on 7 and a little bit of team? if so id like to know the supposed depth chart going Into camp at the return and gunner spots if there's some new faces.
